In mid-2018, I was onboard GMU as a volunteer in Weld square to serve the homeless. It’s always in heart to see how volunteers can sustain the unnatural task that most people would rather not, or are incapable of doing - giving without receiving. Through reading many resources, I understand it’s through the intimacy with God that we can do what God asked us to do with joy. That leads me to a question for me - how do I draw closer to him? His word said, if I seek Him earnestly, I will find Him.

One day, whilst having a casual lunch with GMU founder Serene Huang at Cambridge Food Court, I told her we have to pray, she said: “ If you raise the sail, set the direction, I will support and follow you.”

I am thankful I did, starting a small morning prayer group at end 2018.

Today, it has almost been 2 years since I made that decision. I'm thankful for my prayer warriors that woke relentlessly every day to pray together.

"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:20). Praying together has had many advantages as we've covered each other’s and our own family, ministry, business and relationships. It is essential as it is only through a “partnership” with God through the Holy Spirit that one understands almost everything to do with the Kingdom of God.

I am more rested and am operating in a position of victory in Christ. Prayer helps me uncover the amazing power, benefits, and freedom that can be found in praising God, which only by doing we can experience a deep and intimate relationship with Him.

In closing, through consistent prayers, we indeed can rejoice always, and give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:16).

As a busy doctor, father and missionary, I've  realised I can't do much alone, but I can as a collective force with GMU. GMU has become a platform for me to serve both locally and overseas. My passion is to see the lost saved, trained and successfully sent out as valued workers. I want to see the newer generation embrace God and become positive contributors to society. Living in an affluent nation, I see the importance of empowering overseas missionaries in need. Finally, I strongly believe that a spiritual family of house fellowship is an essential powerhouse for all the above missions.

Most of the Global Mission United ministry takes place amongst the under-served, the destitute, the lost, the broken and the forgotten. This is us all without Christ. It is a privilege to serve with GMU where it is understood that only God has the answers and He truly seeks and finds His lost children. Our GMU guests are my friends and equals and it is a privilege to share our life's journey together, to experience the love, peace and solace that comes from encountering our heavenly Father, and to grow in our faith together through house fellowship.

My heart is for evangelism.   I was praying for an opportunity to be used where the need is greatest.     That led to being involved with GMU at Saturday Fremantle outreach.  Our God knows where we can serve him best.

After being part of the team on a Philippines Mission Trip I can see the great need to reach out with our resources to bless other people groups.  It is a blessing from the Lord to be involved with GMU.
